Rolex took advantage of its presence at the Watches & Wonders show to present its new 2024 collection, or rather the new versions of its flagship models. The Swiss watchmaking giant also took the opportunity to stop sales of certain watches from the brand. What will interest collectors who closely follow watch prices? Rolex Yacht-Master II: the entire collection disappears
If Rolex stopped production of the Milgauss last year at the same time, this year it is the Yacht-Master II collection which is being put aside.
This collection, presented for the first time in 2007, has since undergone only a few small modifications to the dial in 2017. Widely recognizable by its very marine design, the Yacht-Master II, whether in its steel or gold, has therefore no longer been offered for sale since April 9, the date of the announcement of the new 2024 models from Rolex.
Already in 2022, Rolex removed the Yacht-Master II reference 116689, in white gold, from its catalog, so it was a sign.
Rolex Daytona 126529LN
Rolex then chose to no longer market the “Le Mans” Daytona in white gold with a black Cerachrom ceramic bezel, reference 126529LN. It was already highly sought after and almost impossible to find in stores, even among VIP customers.
It will therefore only have been produced for less than a year: from June 2023, its release date, to April 2024. In other words, it will have been marketed solely to celebrate the centenary of Le Mans. We will remember its bezel with a red “100” index to celebrate the anniversary of this legendary car race.
Rolex Datejust 36 126200 & 126233: neither palm trees nor fluted decorations (Fluted)!
We end this list of Rolex models discontinued in 2024 with two Datejust 36s, with references 126200 & 126233, which respectively have a dial with a palm tree decoration and a Fluted dial (fluted decoration).
After only three years of production, the Swiss firm therefore decided to put aside these models with laser-engraved dials which displayed an effect of depth and plays of light between their light and dark surfaces.
