Today we invite you to open the door of the prestigious and oh-so-loved Maison replica Cartier, in order to take a look back at 5 particularly striking creations, released in 2023. An idea suggested by our colleagues from Time and Tide Watches magazine.
1# La Cartier Privé Tank Normal
Each year, a rare watch enters the Cartier Privé collection reserved for the most legendary pieces. In April 2023, it was the Tank Normale which had this honor. A timeless, incredibly refined model, adorned with a new hours/minutes version, with the famous white dial with black Roman numerals, the delicate railway track, the hands (blued or silvered). All accompanied by an alligator leather, yellow gold or platinum bracelet.
Although the yellow gold and platinum versions are sublime, we particularly fell in love with the model with the black alligator leather strap and red cabochon at the crown, because its look is a little different from the usual Tank Normale.
2# The Cartier Santos with green dial
For fans of the unmistakable Santos, several pieces appeared in 2023, starting with a version with a superb dial with a smoky green background. A color that changes from the white, black or even blue that we can see on the other Santos.
Apart from this slight variation, the rest of the watch retains its characteristic features, namely a stainless steel structure with integrated bracelet and exposed screws, as well as a 7-sided crown decorated with a synthetic spinel. Note that the bracelet is interchangeable for those who prefer leather or metal.
3# La Cartier Santos-Dumont Skeleton Micro-Rotor Limited Edition
In 2023, Cartier will inaugurate a new automatic skeleton caliber 9629 MC developed especially for its Santos-Dumont watch, which for the first time has this watchmaking specificity.
On the dial, the eye alternates between transparency and carefully cut cogs, with a movement seemingly suspended in space. We can even see the miniaturized oscillating weight in the form of a replica of the Demoiselle, an innovative plane designed by Alberto Santos-Dumont, the aviator for whom the Manufacture designed this timepiece.
Regarding colors, the Santos-Dumont Skeleton is available in rose gold and steel, without forgetting the limited edition in yellow gold and marine lacquer.
4# La Cartier Tank Louis Cartier Mosaic Collection
Return to the Tank collection, this time a tribute to the Tank Must dials from the 70s. We were therefore able to discover with pleasure last year two models displaying a patterned background whose small squares recall the principle of mosaic (hence its name). These are displayed in shades of gold, silver and copper, a perfectly balanced mix of white gold, yellow gold and rose gold.
Two real little marvels with a touch that is both original, chic and fun! The pattern is enough to adorn the watch which, for the rest, simply includes two golden hands as well as the Manufacture logo.
5# La Cartier Clash Bathtub
Radical change in shape with this latest timepiece: the famous Baignoire! For this creation, Cartier chose to explore roundness, the oval more precisely. We therefore obtain a smooth case with a wide border matched with a bangle as a bracelet, therefore a piece that is half replica watches, half jewelry, with clean, feminine and precious lines.
For the record, the first Bathtub was launched for the first time in 1912 and has undergone numerous variations since. This 2023 version features a sober white dial decorated with black Roman numerals, crossed by two blued hands matching the spinel of the crown.
A simple and luxurious tocante which was a great success upon its release last June.
