With its new Nautilus 5811/1G, Patek Philippe is not proposing a revolution in itself, but rather subtle developments. Starting with the design, with a slightly larger case, going from 40 to 41 mm, and built here in two pieces, a tribute to the original Nautilus from 1976. It is no longer made of stainless steel, but is adorned here with ‘a precious and elegant white gold.
For the dial, a “sun” blue background complemented by a gradient of black at the periphery, and by a horizontal pattern in relief. Above, applied indexes and hands in white gold filled with white luminescent material, as well as a date window framed in white gold.
On a technical level, we also note changes, in particular patented innovations, such as a secure clasp for the bracelet with a new lockable comfort system, as well as a zipper tilting device in place of the previous system of “broken stem”, allowing the screw-down crown to be removed from the dial side of the case.
Inside the new Patek Philippe Nautilus 5811/1G, we find the caliber 26-330 S C. Equipped with 30 jewels, this mechanical self-winding movement is visible at the back of the watch thanks to the sapphire crystal back . It measures 3.3 mm thick, and is equipped with a central rotor in 21-carat gold, a Gyromax balance and a Spiromax hairspring. Apart from the “stop seconds” function offering optimal precision for setting the time, it runs at a frequency of 28,800 A/hour and guarantees a power reserve estimated between 35 and 45 hours.
Finally, let us point out that this Patek Philippe Nautilus 5811/1G is, like its sisters, waterproof to 120 m (12 ATM). In terms of price, we are on Patek Philippe, which necessarily implies a big (very big) budget with a cost of around €65,000, and above all a waiting time which promises to be long.
